Whoever wins the next election, the new government will attempt to claw back all the money spent on bailing out the bankers through cuts to public services. The three main parties are simply competing to see who wields the axe. Ordinary working-class voters haven’t benefited one bit from New Labour’s embrace of the financial markets and their casino economics, so why should we pay to keep them afloat? The Socialist Party is the only party with a proven track record of resisting cuts to public services, and we campaign on the slogan “We won’t pay for your crisis!” |
