Nuneaton NewsNuneaton branch campaign for No2EU - Yes to Democracy (May 30, 2009)
Members of the revived Nuneaton Socialist Party have been busy campaigning for NO2EU – Yes to Democracy over the last month, raising fighting fund and selling papers as they go. With Dave Nellist top of the list in the West Midlands and MPs expenses ‘the issue’ everyone on the street wants to talk about, its been easier than ever before to raise money for the party and to get an echo for our ideas about getting a workers’ representative elected who won’t join the EU gravy train.
Nuneaton branch has recruited new members over the last couple of months and these new faces have made an immediate impact on the branch coming out on stalls and helping with the delivery of thousands of leaflets for our NO2EU election meeting in the town. The enthusiasm of our new members and the determination of our ‘old’ members has meant we have raised 400% of our fighting fund target this quarter.
With a month to go before the end of the current quarter we still have many activities planned and several new people to see who are interested in joining the party. On Friday 26th June we have an anti-racist gig organised in the Town Centre, which Dave Nellist has agreed to speak at. We will also be using the next few weeks to plan how we are going to smash our increased fighting fund target for the next quarter. Click here to return to the Nuneaton News page |
