2009 News ArchiveIf one lie doesn't work try another!(December 13, 2009) While his complete failure as a so called ‘peace envoy’ in the Middle East is increasingly revealed, Tony Blair is clearly trying to rehabilitate himself. In an interview (with infamously tough interrogator Fern Britton) Margaret Thatcher’s greatest admirer has admitted he wanted to invade Iraq no matter what excuse was found.
“It would still have been right” he claimed. “Obviously you would have had to use and deploy different arguments about the nature of the threat”
So if the excuse of Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) didn’t work, try any other excuse you can find! If, as seems increasingly obvious, he knew that WMD was a lie, then this shows he was prepared to be a serial liar to get his and Bush’s War for Oil.
How many tens of thousands have died—and continue to—for the economic and strategic interests of the wealthy and powerful? Their lust for oil and control in Iraq and the Middle East meant they did nothing to rebuild Afghanistan and now leave soldiers to die ‘holding the line’ there. |
